Interviewer: Regarding your image in every day life…I used to live just around the corner from you and I can well remember standing there and seeing you drive past the bus stop where I was standing in a hearse…

Dave: Mmmmhmmm…that’s true…

Interviewer: with an equally Transylvanian looking lady sitting there beside you and everyone in the bus stop just dropping down with uh, horror.

Dave: This is true, I can’t deny it. Um, well I don’t notice the people sort of staring and things because that happens in my wake so to speak. I’d always be like this whatever I was doing, it was probably why I was picked for the Damned I think.

Interviewer: Tell the truth, do you ever just drop the whole thing and just go out in a pair of jeans?

Dave: I don’t own a pair…I don’t own a pair of jeans, I must admit. It’s difficult because I mean I tend to dress down when I go on stage, I don’t dress up. You know when people say “Well I put on my stage clothes?” well I take them off.

At first they were just skylarking about, being lads with their pints of lager and fags in mouths. But after a while things started getting serious and a great competition started between them for who could dance the best. The thing was they were all awful, with perhaps the notable exception of Porl.
